Professionals register their patients, schedule and cancel appointments, keep and edit each patient's medical record, charge for consultations, follow their cash flow on a dashboard, manage their clinic's stock and contact other professionals. Patients search professionals by specialty, book appointments at available times, pay online and access their medical history at any time.
The project started as a team effort and version 2.0 is a full modernization. Every API request now validates a Firebase ID token and each user can only access their own data: appointments, their patients' clinical records, stock and so on. Subscriptions are credited only after the server verifies the payment with Mercado Pago, both on return from checkout and through a webhook, and Mercado Pago OAuth lets professionals connect their own account.
The API is built with Node.js, Express and Sequelize over PostgreSQL, hardened with Helmet, refuses to start when required configuration is missing, and never versions credentials. Route and model tests run with Mocha, Chai and Supertest. The client is a React SPA with Redux, Material UI, Formik and Recharts, fully responsive down to the admin dashboard.
